Friends of Fred provides case-by-case crisis support for eligible first responders, veterans, active military members and community members in California and Washington, D.C. Every request goes through a short, human vetting process.

A referral-based, vetted process, built for accountability on both sides:
We assess eligibility on a case-by-case basis and our vetting process will help determine individual needs and their severity. Every situation is different, and we endeavour to offer support in one of the following ways.
- Rent Subsidies
- Utility Payments
- Medical Bills
- Unplanned Life Events & Disaster Relief
- Vocational Rehab
- Military-to-Civilian Life Transition Assistance

You can request help for yourself, or an organization can refer someone it's supporting. If you're referring someone, add your name or organization in the “Referred by” field.

A team member will look at your situation and work out what practical support can help.

Support is delivered
The right resources are connected: whether that's financial assistance, volunteer help, or community support.
Your information is treated with care and confidentiality. Friends of Fred will only use it to assess and deliver support.
