Who is eligible for support?
Friends of Fred considers requests from first responders, veterans, active military members and community members facing a genuine short-term crisis. Each request is reviewed case by case.
How long does the vetting process take?
Timing depends on the situation and information provided. A Friends of Fred team member reviews the request and follows up to understand the need and next steps.
How do I become a volunteer?
Visit the Be a Friend page and complete the volunteer sign-up. Volunteer roles can include disaster response, community outreach and remote or administrative support.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Friends of Fred is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 41-2742323). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and donors should keep their receipt for their records.
How do I refer someone else for help?
Use the Get Help form and include the referring person or organization in the “Referred by” field. Friends of Fred will review the situation through its normal vetting process.
